How I spent my my 29th Birthday. . .
At 0:00am Monday morning I was still working my 5pm-3am shift trying to do a lumbar puncture, where you stick a really long needle into someone's back to get some brain juice for analysis. I couldn't get it so I had to ask the senior E.R. resident to help me out. The E.R. was still full when I left at 3:30 am. I slept till about 10 went home for lunch with the folks. I had to return to the E.R. to start my last late night shift. What is it about this week and the full moon? We had the usual people with Monday chest pain come in and then the freaks came out at night. I was again busy from 10 to 3 am. We got a couple of people who wanted to commit suicide and we shipped two off to a psych facility. So I get this weird huge fat chinese guy with a fever of 104 and no obvious source except he got stug by something? We did a full work-up and i ordered a cat scan of his head. I left before trying to get some brain juice from him. . .I'm off for the first time in 8 days. I'm here at home enjoying my video game island princess gave me and I look forward to hanging with the boys and watching SWAT.
